A Change is Gonna Come

I was def planning out my fashionista post but due to tech limitations... that will wait....plus this is better! :-)

Ok, so we all have things that we desire to be different in our lives. We all would prefer to edit our stories to be a little bit more to our liking. However, what I've realized over the past few years is that your life, your path, your story is just as it is suppose to be. Now of course we have all made mistakes and been exposed to things perhaps we could have avoided...but that too is what makes life, life. The saying "everything happens for a reason" is not just a saying. It is the TRUTH! Trust me, there have been numerous situations that I could not understand. Many times I felt as though life was crazy for no rhyme or reason. However, it has all made me who I am now, who I am meant to be. Without those experiences I would not have the same mentality, understanding, wisdom and faith that I currently have. I say all this to say to you, stay strong, stay hope[full] and do not be discouraged! The change that you desire is VERY soon to come. As long as you are allowing for your current situation to teach you a thing or two, you will move forward to the change that you desire! Luve you lots :-)

Familiarity breeds complacency

Many times we get sucked into the "now". Unfortunately, that can keep us from dreaming, hoping and reaching for a better tomorrow. We allow for our minds to be limited, many of us can't even imagine our future because we are so distracted by our present situation. This is why it is important to keep our minds active! Whether its reading, watching educational programs or stalking the stars! Yes even celebrity obsessions can be useful in our desire to achieve success by following after those whom we admire lol.
I know a lot of us girls who tend to settle for relationships that are less than they truly desire...simply because it is familiar. The same could be said for a hair style, clothing or group of friends.
I know many people who are unhappy with their field of work but stay simply because its safe. This truly does make me sad because it shows just how little faith we have. Please do not be afraid of receiving better! Open up your mind and heart and dream, and then act. Don't be apart of the "ye of little faith" believe in yourself and your creator! Those desires were put in you for a reason. They are what make you,YOU! If no one else believes in you...you believe in yourself ;-) welcome new people, experiences and ideas!

Our thirst for Intimacy

Every human has a dire need for intimacy. Whether we blanket it with a bf/gf, friend, pet, sex, drugs or whatever. We all desire to feel and be felt. I was reading my fav book a lil while ago "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren and just thought about my own desire for intimacy. Its so nice to cuddle up in blankets and rest your head on a fluffy pillow or talk on the phone. Its little acts like this that show me daily how deeply we as humans desire intimacy, even from inanimate objects. After realizing to what degree we go to, to fulfill this burning desire it occurred to me that perhaps this was what God intended. He wants us to desire the connection that only he can give us. People and things can temporarily fill this void, this desire, but only he can fulfill it in its entirety. So with all that being said....I hope you, my luves are seeking the authentic intimacy that warms your heart, body and soul! Luve ya :-)

Politics: my annoying love

I grew up watching CNN and listening to talk radio (AM) it was so lame! lol These moments are the ones I shared with my father throughout most of my childhood. I remember always being excited for current events convos in class because I always knew what was going on in the world. Many people hate politics but as nasty and as complicated as it can get, it is a MAJOR part of functioning America. So from time to time I will give you some stories and my comments. Just take a looksee and see where you stand... "If you stand for nothing, you will fall for anything" -Unknown

Below is a link to an opinion piece by CNN Political Analyst Rowland Martin. I respect his opinion but do not always agree with him. This article is bout Pres. Obama taking charge in congress. Although it annoys me that Martin refers to this as "going gansta" I concur. I strongly feel as though our President is often disrespected by all sides of the government. Being a decision maker is never an easy job, however he is the American equivalent to a King. I believe it is time for him to put his fist down and go for the goal, no matter who jumps on his bandwagon or not. In regards to the recess issue in Congress, I'm sure that is a strategy to prolong voting for bills that are not in favor to the opposite side. Pres. Obama should by all means make necessary appointments during the recess to get American business handled. After all that is the point of government, right?!?

Me the Eagle

So I've lately come to realize that my fav animal is indeed an Eagle! I feel this way because in many ways I can relate to the eagle. The eagle flys and soars above the rest of the world. An eagle has times when it is still, on solid ground but the majority of the time the eagle is seen flying. As kids many of us have said we wish we could fly. Not knowing that the act of flying can be related to the human life in an metaphoric sense. Flying occurs when we make up in our minds that we want and deserve better. Why walk, crawl or sit when we can fly. Why settle for what is, when we can have what could be? Eagles are associated with strength, prestige and the elite. I choose to be like eagles and soar, not to simply fly...but SOAR!

Loving the art of Love: My intro

Hello All!
Im uberexcited about this opportunity to share my thoughts with all of you! Im extremly candid so enjoy the ride ;-)

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and the word LOVE is everywhere we look. However I look around at people I see and wonder if they really know, feel and understand what Love really is. It obviously is not found in a card, a box of chocolate or a teddy bear but the action of giving is where the love is found. It is an amazing thing to feel as though someone really loves you! Im 23 and have had only 1 Valentine's Day where I felt loved by a man. As I think about that is makes me feel "some kind of way". However there are MANY days that I feel love all around me. Whenever I go home and am greeted with a warm embrace and kiss on the cheek from my mother, when I talk to my nieces and nephews and when I get into the presence of my first true love, God. So to all of my luves out there who are looking for someone to show them love on Sunday....show it to others. "Be the change you want to see" Give unto others and it will be given unto you! If no one else tells you....please know that I DO LOVE YOU!! *Kisses and Blessings*
