Confidants
Ive never been one to understand why people feel as though they are automatically privileged to intimate details of another life. When someone confides in you it is a privilege not a right. That concept seems to be unknown to many. Perhaps I am wrong, but I do not think so. When my friends tell me personal details of their lives, I feel honored that they would tell me such things. When they tell me something that they have been keeping to themselves for some time, I feel the same way...honored. And when they tell me such things, I may be shocked. I would not be offended that I did not know previously or wonder why they did not tell me sooner. Maybe I am by myself on this one but I feel that it is rather rude to think that I am due intimate details about another. It just seems wrong to assume my friends or family owe me intimate details....idk. I have come across this often so I felt the need to address the issue...What do you think?
