Beating the odds

There are so many times where the odds are stacked against me but somehow by the grace of God, I continue to make it! Its amazing how far I've come..how strong my faith has gotten. Yet and still there is another, greater more deeper level of commitment to God that I must reach. With this in mind, I decided to sign up for a class at my church that focuses on having a purified love life with God at the center of it. At the age of 24, I'm looking forward to a life long relationship that does not end in divorce. But with the world being as it is...the reality of that is less than 50%. I refuse to get married if it'll end in divorce, what's the point? Having that in mind, I must do something different. Something more solid and realistic. As I look around me, the only relationships that have lasted and continue to last are those of the few family members I have that are sold out Christians. I'd be a fool to say that's a coincidence.
The point here is this...my decision to get my life right now, will determine who I marry and how it will work out. Instead of doing things the way we've all been raised to ( being the hollywood, media influenced way) I'm going to do it God's way. The beginning of this journey entails me focusing on what I can do to prepare myself for the life I want. Which includes lots of self sacrifice, and dedication. I've been reading this book "Love,Sex & lasting Relationships" by Chip Ingram. #amazingness! There is so much knowledge out there, I'd be crazy to overlook it. I refuse to create a life of instability and failure...the foundation of my future starts here! I could go on but I'll save it for another day:-) love you!
