Christmas?!

I was driving to church yesterday thinking about Christmas. Most American's favorite holiday. I was thinking about how disrespectful it is to refer to it as Xmas. Like could you imagine someone referring to your bday as xday? Especially referring to the bday of Jesus. The man who died for you.
When I got to church, our pastor preached about how we have left Jesus out of Christmas. It's so sad, so disrespectful. I don't think people really get it and that's my motivation for this post.
Christmas is not about giving or recieving gifts. Cooking huge meals or even being with your family. That is all lovely, but if you are not spending the day celebrating Jesus.. there is no point. So let's just remember that this whole holiday is about Jesus, not you or your children. Actually the best gift you can give to your kids, is the knowledge of Christ :-) spend some time having them celebrate Him!
My aunt used to have her kids make a birthday cake for Jesus. That was awesome & really got the point across. I'm def going to do that when I have children.
Hope you all enjoy your holiday season! Love you :-)

  1. Interesting and thought-provoking post. I can't speak much on the god aspect of the holiday because I don't believe in god. I do agree that the holiday has become more about consumerism than anything else. I applaud you for taking the time out to share a perspective that most rarely even consider.

I'm adding you to my favorite blogs. I can't wait to check back and see what else you post!
