The Slick Slayer

Last nite I talked to a good friend who told me out of nowhere that she was admitting herself into rehab in the morning. It was so unexpected and sad. I had no idea she was using, at all. I mean we hang out everyday almost and I had no idea. When she told me it crushed my heart, but I was excited for her to go to rehab and get her life together....
Im 23 years old and have a close family member who has struggled with drugs since I was born. So this issue is very close to my heart. I have seen families torn a part, houses and cars lost, death threats, tears poured... all over drugs. I do not think the average person truly understands what drugs do to people. Its not just about the user but the family and friends that suffer the most. Im sure many of you have seen celebrity rehab on VH1 or even a "crackheads" roaming the streets. But even that can barely capture the pain and devastation that drugs can cause. I have literally had my life ruined from someone else's addiction. To the point that its hard to get a car, house or even job due to debts accrued because of someone else's addiction. Not to mention when children are involved ....thats the saddest part.
The only positive thing about this is that there is hope! Not just rehab or 12 steps but real, eternal, instantaneous hope! GOD...enough said. My family member who struggled with drugs for 23 years is finally clean. It is literally a MIRACLE. You know how sometimes you question if God is real or if he is just someone your parents told you about to ensure you behave well? Well,...HE's real. If I never knew it before I know it now. The fact that my family member is clean and is happy and productive and inspiring is amazing. You have to understand, in therapy they tell you "once an addict, always an addict" NO SIR! That is a lie because when God says its over, its OVER. My family member finally made the choice to let God heal him and God did. Now they call me up with inspiring words and scriptures...wow! I say all this to say, no matter how appealing, how bored you may be, how sad you may be, drugs are no joke. Its for suicidal purposes only! For those who struggle..when you are serious about being free, you will be. Just reach out and touch HIM, HE is awaiting you. Love you all :-)
